Maifest is a German Festival that celebrates the reawakening after winter's cold darkness i.e the celebration of the arrival of Spring! On the 4th and 5th of May, the first ever Maifest celebration was held in Clarke Quay, right here in Singapore. And I'm glad to be part of this fiesta.
Maifest is celebrated with colors to symbolize Spring's fruitfulness. Therefore, a maypole (Maibaum) is erected with colorful decorations.
Were you at the fest?
